About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and supportive primary school team in Banbury. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed professional to make a significant difference in the lives of our pupils. As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working alongside our teachers to deliver high-quality education whilst also covering lessons where required. Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Classroom Teaching: Provide targeted support to students across various year groups, assisting with the delivery of lessons and ensuring that all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Small Group & 1:1 Intervention: Lead small group interventions or 1:1 support sessions to help pupils who need additional assistance with literacy, numeracy, or other subjects.
- Classroom Management: Work closely with the class teacher to maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment, supporting the management of behaviour where necessary.
- Planning & Preparation: Assist with lesson planning, preparing resources, and marking work as required to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience for all students.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Help to track and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and identifying areas where further support may be needed.
- Supporting Individual Needs: Work with children with a variety of additional needs, including SEN, to tailor support and ensure all students are fully included in lessons.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a safe and secure learning environment.
Requirements:.
- Previous Experience in a Primary School Setting as a teaching assistant, HLTA, or in a similar educational support capacity.
- Strong Understanding of the Primary Curriculum and how to differentiate learning for a range of abilities.
- Excellent Communication Skills with both children and adults, including the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
- A Passion for Education and a commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
- Patience, Flexibility, and Enthusiasm to support children with diverse needs and abilities.
