About Us: We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Banbury, Oxfordshire. We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide tailored support to students with additional needs. The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide effective and focused support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will help deliver individualized learning plans, assist with classroom activities, and promote inclusion, ensuring that all pupils are supported in reaching their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with a range of SEN, including learning, physical, and emotional needs, both in and out of the classroom. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being of all pupils. Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailoring teaching to meet individual needs. Work closely with the class teacher to monitor progress and adapt learning strategies as necessary. Support with behavioural management and encourage positive behaviour in the classroom. Liaise with parents and other professionals involved in the care and education of children with SEN. The Successful Candidate: We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting. Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent. Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs. Is able to adapt and be flexible to meet the needs of individual pupils. Has excellent communication skills and can work effectively within a team.
