Our Leominster based client is experiencing a period of sustained growth and requires a Workshop Technician to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. You will be responsible for machining a diverse range of precision components, primarily in aluminium and thermoplastics, playing a crucial part in the assembly of components and bench fitting, ensuring specifications are met. Applicants must demonstrate a strong aptitude for hands-on work and a willingness to learn new skills.
What you can expect:
- Salary – Up to £32,500 depending on experience
- 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Thursday with an early finish on a Friday (37.5 hours)
- 26 days plus bank holidays

What you will be doing:
- Perform precision machining of components using manual mills and lathes, with a focus on aluminium and thermoplastics
- Conduct assembly of components with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring adherence to specifications
- Bench fitting to achieve precise dimensions for seamless integration of components
- Manufacture assembly and test fixtures to support the production process
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings to meet design specifications
- Utilise measurement tools to verify and maintain the accuracy of machined parts
What we are looking for:
- Ability to use manual mills and lathes, preferably at the toolmaker level
- Familiarity with band saws, linishers, grinders and other manual workshop equipment
- Skills in using various measurement tools to ensure precision of machined components
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Exemplary attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- The following would also be advantageous but not an essential requirement:
- Ability to programme a CNC
- Brazing/soldering ability
