We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer on full-time permanent basis, based in near Ledbury. The successful candidate will be comfortable working as part of a shift team supporting a busy manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role focused on the manufacturing assets, the ancillary equipment and utilities that enable the assets to maintain a high level of performance to meet company KPI’s. The scope also captures subassemblies such as FM equipment, building fabrication, IT systems and OHSE requirements. What you can expect: * Starting salary: circa £46,500 per annum, depending on experience and increasing upon successful completion of the probationary period * Shift pattern of 12 hour days and nights, with 5 off days per rotation * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays * Discretionary company bonus based on achieved targets * Enhanced employer pension contribution * Opportunity to work within a large manufacturing environment * A varied engineering role covering both reactive and planned maintenance * Progression and development opportunities * Free on-site car parking * Plus, additional benefits such as EAP, health cashplan and enhanced benefits after 1 year of employment e.g. cycle scheme, income protection scheme What you will be doing: * Working within SOP’S complete PPMs, respond to breakdowns and other reasonable requests in a timely manner * Provide accurate reports on the work undertaken with such details as root cause, spare parts requirement and improvement recommendations * Regularly communicate with and support internal customers * Help set priorities and apply improvements through participation in continuous improvement initiatives * Build relationships with external contractors including OEM & preferred parts suppliers * Attend and contribute to performance and safety meetings * Develop knowledge of the production processes, undertake training where required * Help develop the knowledge of co-workers and in particular trainees What we are looking for: * Time served apprentice to NVQ 3 in an engineering discipline * Strong electrical and mechanical skills is essential * PLC and pneumatic knowledge would be advantageous * At least 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment * Health & Safety Awareness, ideally IOSH qualified * Computer literate * A strong team player Recruitment Direct Leominster are an equal opportunities employer and working as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
