We are working with a specialist engineering company for an Engineering Manager on a Full time, permanent basis situated on the Herefordshire, Powys border. This role sits within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment, responsible for leading the designing and engineering function to deliver high-quality technical documentation, product development, and engineering support across the business.

What You Will Be Doing
- Acting as Design Authority for all designed and manufactured products and equipment, coordinating and leading product design reviews
- Managing all engineering processes and technical documentation from concept through to production and in-service life
- Ensuring engineering changes are completed, authorised, and released in line with QMS procedures
- Leading, motivating and managing the Design Engineering team to meet organisational needs
- Overseeing the In-Service Support helpdesk, including budgets, re-forecasting and approval of labour, parts, and expenses
- Creating and supplying documentation to maintain configuration control, including concessions and Illustrated Parts Manuals
- Leading configuration control and engineering change processes
- Participating in incidents and investigations as a Subject Matter Expert
- Providing rapid problem-solving expertise to diagnose and resolve engineering issues
- Managing root-cause analysis and corrective actions, including oil sampling investigations
- Owning the engineering budget and meeting financial targets
- Reporting monthly on engineering KPIs and performance metrics
- Developing and implementing processes to track and deliver customer development work to tight timescales
- Leading continuous improvement projects in line with business CI strategy
- Managing CAD and engineering software tools, including system introduction, maintenance and user support
- Supporting wider business activities through ad-hoc engineering or technical tasks
What We Are Looking For
- Proven management and leadership experience in an engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis and 5Y
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external customers
- Fully computer literate, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate, influence and engage across all levels
- Creative and analytical approach to engineering design and problem solving
- High attention to detail with the ability to work on complex issues outside usual scope
