Recruitment Direct UK Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Head of Legal Services for our established NHS healthcare provider Client based in Crawley, West Sussex. This is a 3-month temporary assignment, with potential for extension depending on business needs. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work across Trust locations as required.
The successful candidate will support the Trust's Legal Services function, managing a portfolio of complex Coroners' Inquests and clinical/non-clinical claims. You will provide specialist legal advice, work closely with senior managers and clinical leads, and confidently manage sensitive and complex legal matters.
Job Requirements:
- Must have a legal qualification/degree and/or substantial relevant experience in claims management or Coroners' Inquests
- Must have experience managing complex clinical and/or non-clinical claims, ideally within a healthcare environment
- Must have strong knowledge of coronial law and the Coroners' Court process
- Must have knowledge of NHS Resolution and relevant claims and investigation processes
- Must have experience independently managing a complex legal caseload
- Must have previous healthcare legal experience, Coroners' Court advocacy or NHS Resolution experience as an advantage
