We are supporting a well-established engineering business based in North Herefordshire for a Design Engineer on a full-time permanent basis. You will join a supportive design team supporting the delivery of high-quality engineered solutions for a varied customer base.
Full-time, permanent position based in Kington, Herefordshire:
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Salary between £32,000 – £42,000 plus an annual bonus depending on experience
- 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service up to 33 days
- Supportive training and development
Responsibilities include:
- Designing electrical control panels in line with customer specifications and relevant industry standards
- Producing technical documentation and design packs using EPLAN design software
- Providing technical support to colleagues across engineering and production teams
- Inspecting and testing control panels in line with internal procedures
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) alongside customers
- Assisting with on-site commissioning activities when required
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Qualifications and skills required:
- Formal Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification (BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or above)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small engineering team
- Strong understanding of electrical components, circuits and control systems
- Experience using electrical CAD design software
- Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel to sites
- Control panel or Motor Control Centre (MCC) design experience
- Hazardous area design experience
- Panel building or electrical assembly knowledge
- Experience with electrical testing equipment and installation tools
- Industry experience within water, wastewater or process environments
- JIB/CSCS, EUSR or COMPEX certification (training may be provided if not currently held)
