This is an opportunity to join a well-established, independent commercial vehicle service provider specialising in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of HGVs and Fleet Vehicles on a full-time, permanent basis based in Hereford. The business supports a range of logistics and transport clients, delivering high-quality, compliant, and reliable vehicle maintenance services. You will be working as part of a small, skilled team of technicians in a hands-on, workshop-based role.

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm

Salary negotiable depending on experience starting at a minimum of £38,610.00 per annum.

  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Varied workload across HGVs, trailers, and commercial fleet vehicles

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on HGVs and trailers in line with DVSA standards
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
  • Conducting safety inspections, MOT preparation, and compliance checks
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with legal, health & safety, and company procedures
  • Accurately recording work carried out, parts used, and inspection findings
  • Supporting breakdown response and reactive maintenance where required
  • Working collaboratively within a small team to ensure workshop productivity and service delivery targets are met

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, Technician, or Fitter within a commercial vehicle environment
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of HGV systems including engines, braking systems, hydraulics, and electrics
  • Understanding of DVSA regulations, safety standards, and MOT requirements
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety
  • HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable but not essential
  • A proactive and professional approach, with good communication and workshop discipline
