This is an opportunity to join a well-established, independent commercial vehicle service provider specialising in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of HGVs and Fleet Vehicles on a full-time, permanent basis based in Hereford. The business supports a range of logistics and transport clients, delivering high-quality, compliant, and reliable vehicle maintenance services. You will be working as part of a small, skilled team of technicians in a hands-on, workshop-based role.
What You Can Expect
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm, Friday: 7:00am – 4:30pm
- Salary negotiable depending on experience starting at a minimum of £38,610.00 per annum
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays

What You Will Be Doing
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on HGVs and trailers in line with DVSA standards
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Completing repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime while maintaining high safety standards
- Conducting safety inspections, MOT preparation, and compliance checks
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with legal, health & safety, and company procedures
- Accurately recording work carried out, parts used, and inspection findings
- Supporting breakdown response and reactive maintenance where required
- Working collaboratively within a small team to ensure workshop productivity and service delivery targets are met
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, Technician, or Fitter within a commercial vehicle environment
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of HGV systems including engines, braking systems, hydraulics, and electrics
- Experience with diagnostics and fault-finding across a range of vehicle makes and models
- Understanding of DVSA regulations, safety standards, and MOT requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, skilled team
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety
- HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable but not essential
- A proactive and professional approach, with good communication and workshop discipline
