Due to rapid growth, the McDermott Group are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team across multiple companies within the group, including their Automotive division. The ideal candidate will assist with the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Overview of the Role
  • Salary: £26,500.00 - £28,000.00 DOE
  • Holidays: 30 days. Additional days per year of service, maximum of 5. Buy back scheme of additional 5 days

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable across multiple business entities
  • Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with VAT returns and month-end reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audits
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements
Essential Skills
  • Experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a multi-company environment
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial processes
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience in Sage 200 would be advantageous but not essential) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills
  • AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred
  • Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/provided
