Our client is a provider of big-data fantasy games to some of the largest and most exciting clients in the UK and Europe. The company is currently going through a growth period and the need has arisen for additional resource to facilitate a new International Greenfield project. As part of this requirement, our client needs to recruit a Frontend Developer.

Function:

The Perl Web Developer is responsible for the layout, visual appearance, usability, maintenance, and development of existing company websites, as well as the building of new sites to fit in with our objectives and campaigns in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Main Duties:

  1. Responsible for providing web development services, ensuring that websites are developed in line with client expectations and are attractive to the target users, have a logical navigation system, strong functionality, optimization, and all the required features.
  2. Build, develop, and maintain client and company websites, microsites, and landing pages in line with defined branding and web standards, ensuring a fast turnaround and sector-leading capabilities that visibly demonstrate software domain leadership.
  3. Use excellent communication skills to establish and understand design briefs in order to meet web requirements and effectively minimize turnaround time.
  4. Work with the Graphic Designer on the design and development of client and company web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality to ensure delivery of a high-quality web service to customers.
  5. Deliver projects and web initiatives to a high standard and to meet tight deadlines, thus delivering a high return on investment.
  6. Communicate and enforce coding standards to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services to our customers.
  7. Ensure that sites are tested for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions to ensure maximum visibility and access to the website.
  8. Create online surveys, submission forms, campaign codes, and campaign landing pages so that all digital responses can be tracked and reported for continuous improvement.
  9. Implement media content on the website, ensuring it is continually updated and refreshed, promoting increasing usage statistics and relevancy.
  10. Monitor web server and site technical performance to easily recognize system deficiencies, investigate, analyze, and document reported defects, and implement effective solutions to ensure that a high standard of service is maintained at all times.
  11. Ongoing observance of data security guidelines.

Flexibility: to perform any other duties as deemed appropriate by the company to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Professional Skills & Abilities:

  • Qualification at Higher Education Level in an IT-related discipline or relative industry experience;
  • Expert Knowledge of PERL and at least one additional structured programming language;
  • Proficiency in HTML and knowledge of JavaScript & CSS;
  • Proven experience and expertise in web development;
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment, ideally delivering web solutions;
  • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specifications documents;
  • Ability to code software according to standards and design guidelines;
  • Knowledge of database architecture and design.
