Job Title: Business Development Manager – SME Van and Car Sector

Job Location:North East and Scotland

Salary:Β£35k basic with a Β£55k OTE plus company car

The Business Development Manager position is an integral part of the sales team driving new business van and car growth within the SME sector.

Our client has developed a range of products suitable for the needs of Small to Medium sized businesses (SME) and through your proactive approach you will identify companies with a rental requirement, create interest in our service offering and deliver its value

Reporting to the Head of SME, working in a professional fast paced environment the Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new sales within the SME sector in their geographical territory and evolving them into long term profitable relationships. This is a vital and demanding role within the business and calls for a high energy, sales orientated, determined individual.

The role is split 80/20 between new business and account management activities.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to prospect, convert, and maximise sales to new business prospects over
  • Β£20K annual revenue
  • Identify and lead on new opportunities within targeted sectors and build a robust accurate pipeline within the CRM tool.
  • Develop, pitch and secure new business signings and ensure the successful implementation of the contract through the delivery of vehicles
  • Communicate new, or changes to existing product range, terms or conditions when required
  • Provide monthly forecasting figures to support the new business pipeline and bulk order vehicle process
  • Have a clear understanding of the company’s portfolio of products and be able to align and communicate the features and benefits of each
  • Ensure written and verbal customer communication is accurate, professional, and timely

  • Results driven and motivated by success, able to prove and substantiate a progressive career to date
  • Inquisitive and incisive with a lateral thinking attitude
  • Strong level of attention to detail and be able to work unsupervised and to successfully complete tasks within tight deadlines
  • Have the ability to multitask and simultaneously manage a portfolio of prospect at different stages of the sales cycle
  • IT literate, within Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills
  • A strong communicator, able to objection handle, negotiate and close decision makers
