The Lead Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for refurbishment, retrofit and decarbonisation programmes within the social housing sector. The role involves leading commercial strategy, managing cost control and risk, and supporting delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management across refurbishment, planned works and decarbonisation contracts
- Full responsibility for cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting
- Manage valuations, variations, final accounts and client negotiations
- Oversee subcontractor procurement and commercial performance
- Work closely with operational teams to maintain programme pace and quality
- Support governance, compliance and contract administration requirements
- Mentor and manage Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Quantity Surveyor
- Strong background in social housing refurbishment, retrofit or decarbonisation
- Experience working on compliance-led programmes
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to lead teams and influence delivery outcomes
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- RICS accreditation desirable but not essential
