We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer to join a global leader in combustion and environmental technology, supporting complex burner, combustion and process systems across international industrial sites. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Service Engineer or Combustion Engineer with a strong mechanical, electrical or controls background to work on high-value projects across the oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation and industrial sectors. The role offers excellent technical variety, international travel, overtime earning potential and the opportunity to represent a world-class engineering business on major client sites around the world.

As Field Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, fault finding, troubleshooting and optimisation of combustion equipment and associated systems. You will work closely with customers, engineering teams and project teams to ensure equipment is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission, service and troubleshoot burner and combustion systems
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical and process-related fault finding
  • Support installation, start-up and performance testing of equipment
  • Work on industrial combustion, burner and environmental systems
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Carry out site inspections, system checks and functional testing
  • Support customer sites across the UK and overseas
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and breakdown activity
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently and within specification
  • Liaise with customers, site teams and internal engineering departments
  • Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment optimisation
  • Follow site health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Represent the business professionally on major client sites
  • Travel internationally for commissioning, service and support work

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Service Engineer
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, controls or process engineering background
  • Experience with combustion systems, burners, boilers, furnaces or fired equipment would be advantageous
  • Oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, process plant or heavy industrial experience preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs and electrical schematics
  • Strong fault finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Confident working independently on customer sites
  • Flexible approach to international travel and site-based work
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
