Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a stable, full-time role with a respected law firm in Spalding? We are recruiting for a Team Legal Secretary to join a growing Private Client department within a well-established Top 150 UK law firm. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong secretarial skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate, professional documents in a busy team environment. This role could also suit a highly organised Secretary or Administrator from another professional services background who has strong typing, audio transcription and document production skills.
The Role
You will provide secretarial and administrative support to fee earners handling a range of Private Client matters including:
- Wills
- Probate
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Trusts
- Estate administration
Key Responsibilities
- Fast and accurate typing
- Digital dictation and audio transcription
- Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
- Diary management and appointment coordination
- Handling post, emails and electronic filing
- File opening and closing
- Supporting billing and time recording
- Managing original documents and strong room procedures
- Assisting with probate paperwork, LPAs, Deeds and Land Registry forms
- Acting as a professional first point of contact for clients
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous Legal Secretary experience, or strong secretarial experience in a professional environment
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Digital dictation / audio transcription experience
- Strong MS Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Professional communication skills
- High level of confidentiality and discretion
Desirable:
- Private Client experience
- Knowledge of Wills, Probate, LPAs or Trust work
- Experience using case management systems, iManage, Docusign or PDF Docs
- Understanding of legal billing or Lexcel procedures
