Salary & Benefits £48,000 – £58,000 depending on experience Company car allowance Performance-related bonus 33 days' holiday including bank holidays and your birthday Company pension Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) scheme Free office lunches and parking Company laptop and mobile phone Training and career development Monday to Friday working hours Long-service holiday benefits The Mechanical Estimator Role Working within an experienced estimating team, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive mechanical tenders for medium to large building services projects.
Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed mechanical estimates for HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing and public health installations.
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Completing mechanical take-offs, measurements and cost calculations.
Pricing materials, labour, plant and subcontractor packages.
Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Producing competitive tender submissions and pricing schedules.
Identifying commercial risks, cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Working closely with design, commercial and project delivery teams.
Managing tender deadlines, clarifications and project handovers.
What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical building services and M&E installations.
Knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation and plumbing systems.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
Experience in mechanical estimating, tendering and material take-offs.
Good commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
Confident communication and organisational skills.
Competent with Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable but not essential: Experience using Amtech or Trimble estimating software.
Experience on Defence sector projects.
Knowledge of electrical building services or general construction.
