Are you an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer, Employee Relations Advisor or People Advisor with experience supporting transport, logistics, distribution, manufacturing or another fast-moving operational environment? RecruitME is recruiting for a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join the Agriculture division of a major UK food and farming business. The role is primarily focused on supporting the transport department, working closely with transport managers, operational leaders, drivers and wider support teams. You will be based at Anwick, near Sleaford, with occasional travel to other agricultural locations, approximately once a month.

You will join a small, friendly and experienced HR team, supporting managers with employee relations, absence, performance, engagement, recruitment and the wider employee lifecycle. As HR Advisor, you will provide practical and legally compliant HR advice across a busy transport and agricultural operation. You will work closely with the Senior HR Advisor and HR Business Partner while building strong day-to-day relationships with transport managers and operational teams. The role will involve a strong employee relations element alongside absence management, manager coaching, recruitment support, workforce planning and continuous improvement. It would suit someone who enjoys being visible within the operation, understands the pace and demands of transport or logistics and can confidently manage several priorities at the same time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice to transport managers and operational teams.
  • Manage and advise on investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence and capability cases.
  • Coach managers on employment law, HR policies and consistent people management.
  • Support absence management, return-to-work processes and absence-reduction plans.
  • Build effective relationships with drivers, managers and operational colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, HR records, correspondence and employee documentation.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and training-compliance activity.
  • Assist with workforce planning, organisational change and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
  • Produce HR reports and maintain accurate information on HR systems.

About You:

You may currently be working as an HR Advisor, HR Officer, People Advisor, Employee Relations Advisor, ER Advisor, HR Generalist or Site HR Advisor. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR advisory or generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Confidence managing investigations, disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience coaching and advising operational managers.
  • Strong organisation and case-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A practical, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
  • Good HR systems and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience within transport, logistics, distribution, fleet operations, warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG, food, agriculture or another operational environment would be highly advantageous. A CIPD qualification or current CIPD study would be beneficial but is not essential.
