The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Retrofit Site Manager to join a respected national contractor delivering long-term retrofit, decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects across social housing. This is a strong opportunity for a Site Manager, Retrofit Manager, EWI Site Manager, Planned Works Manager, Construction Site Manager or Social Housing Site Manager who wants a stable role with clear progression, a good package and the chance to work on meaningful projects improving homes and reducing energy use.
You will manage fabric-first retrofit works across multiple live sites, including External Wall Insulation (EWI), solar PV, brickwork repairs, structural repairs and general fabric improvement works. This is not a hands-on tools role. It is a management role focused on programme, subcontractors, quality, health and safety, residents, clients and delivery.

The Role
As Retrofit Site Manager, you will oversee the delivery of retrofit and fabric-first works across social housing properties. You will coordinate site activity, manage subcontractors, monitor progress, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain quality standards across multiple live sites. You will also work closely with clients, residents, commercial teams and operational teams to make sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage retrofit projects across multiple live sites
- Oversee EWI, solar PV, fabric improvement works, brick repairs and structural repairs
- Programme works and monitor progress against deadlines
- Manage subcontractors and site teams
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed at all times
- Carry out site visits, inspections and quality checks
- Build strong relationships with clients, residents and stakeholders
- Use spreadsheets and digital systems to track progress, budgets and performance
- Support commercial and operational teams with reporting
- Help ensure works are completed safely, professionally and right first time
About You
You will need experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Retrofit
- External Wall Insulation / EWI
- Solar PV
- Fabric-first projects
- Social housing
- Planned maintenance
- Decarbonisation
- Energy efficiency works
- Construction site management
- Refurbishment or property services
You should be organised, confident managing subcontractors and comfortable working across multiple live sites.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Site Manager, Retrofit Site Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor or Planned Works Manager
- Strong understanding of EWI, PV, retrofit or energy efficiency works
- Social housing, planned works or property services experience
- Good health and safety awareness
- Confident managing subcontractors and site activity
- Strong communication skills with clients, residents and site teams
- Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and digital reporting tools
- Understanding of brickwork, structural repairs or fabric improvement works
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- First Aid at Work
- PAS2035 knowledge would be useful, but training is provided
