The role

You will provide senior technical support across company-operated, customer and partner-owned anaerobic digestion, biogas and industrial process plant facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating small teams of two or three engineers
  • Diagnosing complex plant and equipment faults
  • Leading repairs, breakdown recovery and equipment replacement
  • Supporting installation, commissioning and plant upgrade projects
  • Supervising contractors during maintenance and project work

  • Supporting improvements in plant safety, reliability, efficiency and performance

You may work with equipment including:

  • Pumps, submersible mixers and motors
  • Valves, pipework and flow systems
  • Conveyors, solid feeders and de-packaging equipment
  • Heat exchangers and heating systems
  • Gas storage and associated process equipment
  • Sensors, safety systems and general mechanical plant machinery

What we're looking for

  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant mechanical maintenance, fitting or service engineering experience
  • Strong industrial, manufacturing or process plant background
  • Advanced mechanical fault-finding and repair capability
  • Experience leading engineers, contractors or small technical teams
  • Experience planning and coordinating site work
  • Good knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, RAMS, permits and isolations
  • Confident communication with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel nationally and stay away from home regularly
  • Practical, flexible and safety-conscious approach
  • Experience within anaerobic digestion, biogas, renewable energy, wastewater, utilities, recycling, energy-from-waste or heavy process plant environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, Field Service Supervisor or Team Leader position would also be beneficial.

Location and travel

This is a national field-based role. Candidates based in Lincolnshire, the East Midlands, along the M1 corridor or within another well-connected Midlands location will be particularly well placed. Reasonable access to Lincoln would be beneficial, although access to the wider UK motorway network is the main consideration. Regular UK travel and overnight stays will be required. Fuel, travel costs, accommodation and applicable overnight allowances will be covered.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-leading organisation, combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership and play an important role in the continued growth of its UK operation.
