About the Role
As a Retrofit Site Manager, you'll oversee the operational delivery of retrofit and energy efficiency works including insulation, low-carbon heating, window replacements, ventilation upgrades, and more. You’ll manage site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders – ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (PAS2030/2035, ECO, Building Regs, etc...). With your strong technical background, commercial awareness, and people-first approach, you'll be the key site lead ensuring projects are delivered on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of retrofit project delivery on site, including health & safety, quality, budget, and programme.
- Deliver energy efficiency works such as wall/loft insulation, draughtproofing, ventilation systems, and low-carbon heating.
- Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors; oversee technical performance and productivity.
- Build strong relationships with residents, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all funding requirements (e.g., ECO), building regulations, and PAS2030/2035.
- Conduct regular site inspections and team briefings; monitor H&S performance.
- Collaborate with commercial and technical teams to maintain cost control and programme integrity.
- Provide technical input to design reviews, risk assessments, and progress reporting.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience as a Retrofit Site Manager or similar role in energy efficiency or social housing.
- SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications.
- CSCS (Manager level).
- Strong understanding of retrofit measures and compliance standards (PAS2030/35, ECO, etc.).
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to identify contract variations.
- First Aid at Work (HSE recognised).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and Power Project is desirable.
Desirable Extras
- Retrofit Coordinator or Assessor qualification.
- Experience delivering government-funded sustainability projects.
- M&E or low-carbon heating/heat network background.
