About the Regional Commercial Manager
As Regional Commercial Manager, you’ll be the go‑to expert across a multi‑branch territory—delivering commercial assurance, driving performance, and mentoring commercial teams to success. You’ll collaborate with directors, branch managers, surveyors, and bid teams to ensure budgets are hit, opportunities are maximised, and risk is mitigated.
Expect variety, no two weeks are the same. From overseeing CVRs to pricing tenders, coaching teams to shaping client bids, this is high‑impact work that directly supports the bottom line. Hybrid working means you’ll split your time between Royston, the wider region, and home.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial operations across your regional portfolio
- Own and manage CVR processes, cash collection, budgeting, and forecasting
- Support bid development, pricing, and risk review for high‑value contracts
- Build and manage strong client relationships to drive retention and upsell
- Oversee development, performance, and training of commercial staff
- Implement commercial best practice across all branches
- Support branches in the use of IT systems (Dynamics, Qlik, SharePoint) and reporting tools
- Lead on key commercial decisions around valuations, subcontractor accounts, and contract reviews
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve profit margins and reduce commercial risk
- Ensure compliance with legal, industry and funding standards (public sector, frameworks, etc.)
- Provide strategic input into regional work pipelines and profitability plans
- Take the lead on dispute resolution and commercial negotiations
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Regional Commercial Manager or senior commercial leader in construction, maintenance or property services
- Deep understanding of contract law, project valuation, risk management and commercial forecasting
- Strong track record of leading high‑performing commercial teams
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels—from boardrooms to site cabins
- Proficient in CVR reporting, P&L oversight, subcontract management and client negotiation
- Qualified with a construction‑sector degree or equivalent (HNC/HND/BSc)
- CMI Level 5 (or willing to work towards it)
- Managerial and H&S qualifications are advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence
