RecruitME is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor Utilities / Streetworks to support a major smart metering and boundary box replacement programme. This is a home-based role with regular travel to sites across the South Coast, making it ideal for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor, Utilities QS, Commercial Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Analyst, Commercial Officer or NEC Contracts professional with experience across utilities, infrastructure, smart metering, streetworks, excavation works, operational reporting or commercial assurance.

The role sits between Commercial, Operations, Planning, Streetworks, Finance and Programme teams, ensuring aborted installation jobs, excavation requirements, boundary box replacements and enabling works are correctly evidenced, commercially validated and managed in line with contract requirements.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor Utilities / Streetworks, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating and managing aborted or failed smart meter installation jobs that may require excavation, enabling works, boundary box replacements or Streetworks activity. Youll assess operational evidence including photos, surveys, operative notes and asset data to confirm whether dig works or follow-on works are genuinely required. This is a commercially important role focused on reducing unnecessary costs, preventing unsupported dig claims, improving data quality and providing audit-ready commercial assurance across the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate aborted or failed smart meter installation jobs
  • Assess photos, surveys, operative notes and asset data
  • Confirm whether dig works, excavation, boundary box replacement or enabling works are genuinely required
  • Ensure abort reasons are accurately classified, evidenced and commercially supported
  • Ensure activity is managed in line with NEC4 TSC contract requirements and Scope obligations
