Location and Working Pattern

This is a hybrid, group-wide role covering operational sites across East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire / Peterborough. Your home site would usually be the company site closest to your home location. However, you will need to travel across the group as required, particularly where a specific technical issue, infrastructure project, upgrade or site requirement needs your support. For ease of travel, this role would suit someone based along the eastern side of the country, ideally within reasonable reach of the main operating areas. Suitable locations could include Peterborough, Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Hull, Doncaster, Grantham, Boston, Spalding, Newark, Grimsby, York, Beverley, Huntingdon, Cambridge or surrounding areas. There may also be occasional escalation support as part of the role. This would not usually be the first point of contact, as issues would normally be escalated through site engineering, plant management and maintenance management before reaching the Group EC&I Engineer. In many cases, this may involve phone-based technical support or remote advice rather than site attendance.

The Role

As Group EC&I Engineer, you will act as the companys in-house specialist for electrical, control and instrumentation engineering. You will provide technical support and troubleshooting across existing installations, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment replacement, site upgrades and new infrastructure projects. You will develop group-wide technical standards and standard EC&I solutions to improve consistency across current and future assets. You will assess existing infrastructure, identify obsolescence and recommend suitable upgrade plans. A key part of the role will involve working with internal engineering teams and external EC&I vendors to standardise SCADA systems, improve process control and support automation of reporting systems linked to reliability and plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop company-wide EC&I standards, specifications and technical solutions
