The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint more Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to cover the CA postcode area. You will play a key role in delivering smart metering services to customers, representing the business professionally in the field and helping maintain high levels of safety, compliance and customer satisfaction.

The Role

As a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer, you will work in a field-based role across domestic customer sites within the CA postcode area. Youll be responsible for installing, exchanging and maintaining smart metering equipment to a high technical standard, while delivering a professional and customer-focused service on every visit. Youll manage your own daily workload in the field, supported by planning, delivery and operational teams, with the tools, vehicle, training and systems needed to do the job properly.

What Youll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining smart meters to a high technical standard
  • Working across domestic customer sites within the CA postcode area
  • Carrying out gas and electric metering work in line with industry standards
  • Carrying out communication testing for metering equipment and loggers
  • Proactively communicating with customers ahead of appointments
  • Delivering a professional, safe and customer-focused service in the field
  • Working closely with delivery support teams to ensure smooth job completion
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and quality
  • Following all working procedures, regulations and company processes
  • Managing van stock, tools and company equipment responsibly
  • Supporting strong first-time-fix and first-fit performance
  • Representing the business positively on customer sites

About You

To be considered for this role, youll need to be a qualified and experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer with strong technical ability and a professional approach to customer service. Youll be someone who takes pride in safe, compliant work, communicates well with customers and is comfortable working independently in a field-based role.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

  • Previous Dual Fuel Smart Metering experience
  • CMA1 or CCN1
  • REGT1
  • MET1
  • MET2
  • Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering, Dual Fuel / Power, or proof of electrical competence
  • Strong technical ability
  • A clear focus on safety, compliance and customer service
  • Good communication skills
  • A professional, reliable and field-based approach
  • A full UK driving licence
