You will lead predominantly directly employed teams, giving you genuine responsibility for standards, capability and culture. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on moving the operation from reactive maintenance to structured, preventative and consistently high-performing facilities management.

The Role

As Head of Facilities, you will lead the teams and services responsible for keeping the venue safe, compliant, reliable and ready for every event.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading directly employed cleaning, engineering, maintenance and event-support teams
  • Developing team capability through coaching, training and clear performance standards
  • Owning the planned preventative maintenance strategy across the venue
  • Improving asset reliability and reducing reactive maintenance
  • Creating, implementing and reviewing SOPs and operational procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, statutory testing and life-safety requirements
  • Maintaining an audit-ready facilities operation
  • Working closely with event and venue operations teams to deliver successful event turnarounds
  • Managing facilities budgets, resources, suppliers and performance measures
  • Driving continuous improvement across building services and estates operations
  • Creating a strong right first time culture across safety, quality and service delivery

About You

You will be an experienced facilities or operational leader who is comfortable managing strategy while remaining visible and involved in the day-to-day operation.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Senior facilities, estates, engineering or venue-operations management experience
  • Experience leading directly employed technical and operational teams
  • A strong understanding of planned preventative maintenance and asset management
  • Experience developing SOPs, standards and structured operating procedures
  • Strong health and safety, compliance and statutory-maintenance knowledge
  • The ability to manage budgets, resources and operational performance
  • A coaching-led management style that develops capability and accountability
  • The confidence to challenge established practices and implement improvements
  • Flexibility to support events, including occasional evenings and weekends

Experience within live entertainment, arenas, stadiums, hospitality, leisure, visitor attractions or another high-footfall public venue would be particularly valuable. Applications are also welcomed from senior facilities leaders in other complex, customer-facing environments.

IOSH, NEBOSH or a relevant facilities, engineering or building-services qualification would be advantageous.
