Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in planned maintenance, social housing, refurbishment or property services?

We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a major UK property services contractor, supporting a portfolio of planned works projects across the East Midlands.

This is a strong opportunity for a commercially focused QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects from tender stage through to completion, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to protect margins and ensure projects remain commercially controlled.

The Role

  • Measuring, pricing and evaluating tenders
  • Managing projects commercially from inception through to completion
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project margin
  • Cost management, forecasting and CVR reporting
  • Managing commercial and financial risk
  • Preparing and managing valuations, payment notices and invoices
  • Administering subcontractor accounts and applications for payment
  • Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects remain on budget
  • Managing both direct labour and subcontracted works

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within planned works or planned maintenance
  • Experience within social housing, refurbishment, property services or a similar environment
  • At least two years' planned works / planned maintenance experience
  • Strong cost-management and financial-reporting capability
  • Experience producing CVRs and forecasts
  • Experience managing valuations, invoices and payment notices
  • Subcontractor account-management experience
  • Knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates / coding system
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting operational teams
  • Full UK driving licence
  • BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification

Bell's previous internal package information showed a QS car allowance of £6,452, increasing to £8,052 for an electric vehicle.

Location

The role sits within the East Midlands operation, with the vacancy currently advertised in Nottingham and Bell's internal recruitment information referencing Bingham. You will need to be comfortable travelling to live projects across the region.
