Operating across 18 countries, with more than 235 of its own sites and over 1,750 installations worldwide, the company has ambitious plans to grow its UK operation and strengthen its national engineering capability. As part of this expansion, it is now looking to appoint a Lead Mechanical Field Service Engineer to support complex maintenance, commissioning, breakdown recovery and plant improvement work across the UK. This is a full-time, permanent position combining hands-on engineering with site leadership, contractor supervision and the coordination of small engineering teams.

Starting salary from £50,000, depending on experience. Overtime arrangements applicable to the role. Fully equipped company van or access to a company vehicle. Fuel and business travel costs covered. Overnight accommodation and applicable allowances covered. 5% employer pension contribution with 3% employee contribution. Holiday allowance. Specialist technical and leadership training. Opportunity to influence the development of a growing UK service team. Chance to work with internationally recognised renewable energy and process plant technology.

The role:

  • You will provide senior technical support across company-operated, customer and partner-owned anaerobic digestion, biogas and industrial process plant facilities.

  • Leading planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
  • Diagnosing complex plant and equipment faults.
  • Supporting installation, commissioning and plant upgrade projects.
  • Supervising contractors during maintenance and project work.
  • Supporting PLC and SCADA-controlled equipment alongside remote specialists.

  • Confident communication with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and stay away from home regularly.
  • Practical, flexible and safety-conscious approach.
  • Experience within anaerobic digestion, biogas, renewable energy, wastewater, utilities, recycling, energy-from-waste or heavy process plant environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, Field Service Supervisor or Team Leader position would also be beneficial.

Location and travel:

This is a national field-based role. Reasonable access to Lincoln would be beneficial, although access to the wider UK motorway network is the main consideration.
