About the Multiskilled Operator role
The Multiskilled Operator will be based between two modern AD plants near Hibaldstow and Spridlington. You’ll manage plant performance, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and take ownership of fault‑finding, preventative maintenance and optimisation projects.
You’ll also contribute to site KPIs, compliance reporting, and system health.
It’s a wide‑ranging role with freedom to make a real impact – so bring your mechanical, electrical, and process problem‑solving brain.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor and maintain the AD, gas upgrade and injection plants across two locations
- Respond to faults, investigate alarms, and restore system performance quickly and safely
- Run daily equipment checks, document operational logs and maintain accurate plant records
- Perform and log site maintenance activities – including support to and oversight of contractors
- Feed the plant safely, track feedstock use and prevent unplanned quality fluctuations
- Manage spare parts, stock levels and maintenance schedules
- Assist with analytical testing and act on results to maintain peak plant health
- Engage in plant trials and efficiency upgrades to improve output and sustainability
- Actively participate in SHEQ processes and compliance with EA requirements
- Cover rota for site call‑outs, holidays and unplanned absences
What We\’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Multi‑skilled background – ideally in an industrial, utilities, process or agricultural setting
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical fault finding, hydraulics/pneumatics
- Experience in anaerobic digestion, renewable energy or waste processing is a big bonus
- Able to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and make independent decisions
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Solid understanding of SHEQ and environmental compliance
- Competent with Excel and digital reporting systems
- Full UK driving licence – must be able to travel between sites regularly
