Are you a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer looking for a permanent weekday late shift with no rotating days and nights? RecruitME is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join the engineering team at a major food manufacturing site in Linton. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on mechanical fault finding, planned maintenance, breakdown response and improving the reliability of production machinery.

The role
As a mechanically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Complete planned preventative maintenance across production equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns quickly and safely
- Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, gearboxes and drive systems
- Use your electrical knowledge to support basic fault finding and first-line repairs
You will also work across boilers, water systems, cooling equipment, fabrication machinery and wider site services.
What we're looking for
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
- Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing, production or process engineering
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Practical electrical knowledge
- A proactive approach to breakdowns and equipment reliability
Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, automated production, packaging or another fast-paced manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant. PLC experience would be useful, but this is not an electrically biased PLC Engineer position.
