It's part of a national network of operations transforming waste into renewable energy, agricultural products, and more keeping the circular economy turning. You'll be joining an established engineering team on-site that knows the plant inside out and keeps production running at full capacity, 24/7.
About the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and improvement of all electrical systems on-site. From scheduled preventative maintenance to emergency breakdown response, your mission is to keep the plant safe, running, and fully compliant. You'll be working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotation (including nights and weekends) so flexibility and reliability are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance and installation works across plant and machinery
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and faults, troubleshooting effectively under pressure
- Work on general factory electrical systems including control panels, drives, motors, and sensors
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with compliance regulations
- Conduct risk assessments and adhere to Health & Safety procedures
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to minimise downtime
- Support shift coverage when required due to absence or business need
- Ensure the working area is always left safe, clean and functional
What We're Looking For
- Recognised apprenticeship or formal electrical qualification (C&G / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Extensive experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial/process environment
- Knowledge of inverter drives and basic PLC logic
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
- High attention to detail and fault-finding skills
- Calm and methodical under pressure
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Commitment to continuous improvement and safe working practices
