This is a role for a Quantity Surveyor who can walk in and take control from day one. You will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of external planned works programmes, with a strong focus on painting and cyclical decking across social housing portfolios. These are live contracts covering balconies, walkways, external decorations and associated refurbishment works where your ability to control cost, recover value and protect margin will directly impact profitability.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Full commercial ownership of external works packages (painting and cyclical decking)
- Manage contracts end-to-end: pricing, CVR, valuations, variations, final accounts and cash collection
- Work within SOR and BOQ frameworks
- Drive performance across painting, decking and external refurbishment programmes
- Identify and recover variations
- Manage subcontractors and payments
- Control cost, margin and cash flow
- Work closely with site teams
- Identify and manage commercial risk
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience as a QS in external planned works or social housing
- Strong knowledge of SOR and BOQ contracts
