Are you an experienced electrician ready to step off the tools and into a rewarding training career? This is a rare opportunity for a commercially experienced Electrical Installation / Maintenance Electrician to move into education and pass on real-world knowledge to the next generation of engineers. You will join an established training team delivering high-quality apprenticeship and commercial electrical courses across Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe.

The Role

  • Deliver practical and classroom-based electrical training to apprentices and adult learners
  • Support learners through their technical development and assessments
  • Deliver commercial courses including:
  • C&G 18th Edition
  • C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
  • Basic Electrical Maintenance
  • PAT Testing
  • Use your industry background to bring learning to life
  • Work closely with fellow instructors to maintain high training standards
  • This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your experience directly shapes careers.

    What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years commercial / industrial electrical experience
    • Strong craft and fault-finding skills
    • Confident communication and people skills
    • Basic IT capability
    • Experience in:
    • Containment installations
    • First and second fix
    • Inspection and testing
    • Certification (EIC, EICR, Minor Works) to BS7671 and GN3 standards
  • Essential: Electrical apprenticeship or City & Guilds Level 3
  • Desirable (not essential): HNC or higher; Teaching or assessor qualifications (fully funded if not held); Current or former JIB card holders are welcome.
  • Location & Travel

    Based in Hull, with regular travel across Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle are essential; public transport is not practical.

    Salary & Benefits:

    If you don't hold a teaching qualification, it will be fully funded and supported. You'll complete this in your own time with guidance throughout. Benefits include:

    • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
