About the Management Accountant Role
As Management Accountant, you\’ll own the financials for key entities within the business. This isn\’t just about spreadsheets and journals — it\’s about being a trusted financial voice, delivering meaningful insight, forecasting with confidence, and ensuring integrity across the balance sheet.
From monthly reporting and variance analysis to cash forecasting and audit support, you’ll play a central role in ensuring robust financial control — all while helping the company scale sustainably and strategically.
This hybrid role is typically 2 days in the Glasgow office and 3 days remote, with hours of 8:30am–5pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant

Deliver accurate, timely month-end accounts for assigned entities

Prepare and present management reports with variance analysis vs budget/forecast

Post accruals, prepayments and complex journal entries

Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items

Forecast short-term and long-term cash flow

Support internal and external audit processes

Collaborate across departments to explain financial results and influence decisions

Identify and drive improvements in reporting and accounting processes
What We’re Looking For in a Management Accountant
Essential Skills & Experience:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Strong grounding in management accounting, month-end, and budgeting principles
-
Excellent Excel skills and confidence with accounting systems (D365 preferred)

Proven ability to analyse and communicate complex financial data
-
Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage deadlines
-
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Desirable Experience:

Background in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors

Track record of improving processes or building new reporting tools

Experience of working with cross-functional teams and influencing at senior level
