RecruitME is recruiting a Maintenance Manager to lead mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenance near Market Harborough. You’ll oversee planned and reactive maintenance, develop your team and deliver improvements to plant availability, safety and engineering performance.
We’re keen to hear from engineering leaders with experience in power generation, energy from waste, biomass, manufacturing, FMCG or heavy process industries.
Salary and benefits
- Salary up to £62,000
- Monday-to-Friday working, 40 hours per week, with working hours between 07:30 and 17:00
- On-call rota currently one week in four
- 5% employer pension contribution, with a 4% employee contribution

Your responsibilities
Reporting on maintenance performance and working closely with Operations, you’ll lead the site maintenance team to deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective engineering support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled engineers
- Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
- Improving plant reliability and availability through root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Planning and delivering major plant outages, including contractor coordination
- Managing maintenance budgets, capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX)
- Maintaining the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), asset histories and maintenance records
- Managing critical spares, engineering stores, suppliers and external contractors
- Ensuring compliance with PSSR, LOLER and COSHH requirements
- Supporting permit-to-work and safe isolation systems, including contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Providing technical support for breakdowns, fault-finding and engineering improvements
The engineering environment
You’ll work across a varied process plant incorporating gasification, steam and condensate systems, a turbine and generator, HV/LV electrical distribution, DCS/PLC controls, water treatment, conveyors, compressed air and flue gas abatement systems.
What you’ll bring
- Proven maintenance management experience within an industrial, manufacturing or process plant environment
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams
- An HNC, HND or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant time-served apprenticeship
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge
- Experience managing CMMS, PPM programmes and maintenance budgets
- Knowledge of permit-to-work and safe isolation procedures
- Plant outage planning experience
- Strong breakdown response and fault-finding capability
Experience in power generation, biomass or energy from waste would be particularly attractive. A NEBOSH qualification and knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance or root cause analysis would also be advantageous.
