Are you an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician or Industrial Electrician looking for varied, hands-on work with the freedom to manage your day?

Join an established UK renewable power generation business, maintaining electrical equipment across regional sites. You'll investigate faults, carry out repairs and help keep generating plant running safely and reliably.

Previous renewable energy experience isn't essential. We welcome applications from electrically qualified engineers working in manufacturing, utilities, power generation, electricity distribution, steel production and other industrial environments.

What's in it for you?

  • Up to 15% bonus, with quarterly and annual payments, subject to performance and scheme rules.

  • Company van and fuel card, including personal use.

  • 6% employer pension contribution.

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Financial support towards home solar panels, battery storage and EV charging.

  • Employee Assistance Programme, virtual GP and eye-care vouchers.

  • Community volunteering days and company sick pay after a qualifying period.

The role

RecruitME is recruiting an Electrical Field Technician to carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across power generation sites in South East England and East Anglia.

This is a mobile role involving regular regional travel. You'll work independently, with support from regional and national electrical engineering colleagues.

Your work will include:

  • Electrical maintenance and fault finding: Inspect, diagnose and repair industrial electrical equipment to reduce downtime.

  • HV and LV equipment: Maintain switchgear, transformers, electrical distribution systems and associated plant within your competence and authorisation.

  • Generators and alternators: Support safe electrical isolation and alternator disconnection ahead of engine maintenance and rebuilds.

  • Reliability improvements: Investigate recurring faults, identify root causes and recommend practical improvements.

  • Contractor support: Coordinate specialist electrical contractors, including inductions, safety documentation and supervision of relevant work.

  • Safe working and reporting: Follow isolation procedures and safe systems of work, interpret electrical drawings and maintain accurate maintenance records.

What you'll need

  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a relevant electrical discipline.

  • Experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including diagnosing faults and completing repairs.

  • Working knowledge of BS 7671 / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Knowledge and practical experience of operating high-voltage switchgear.

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.

  • Confidence managing your workload, solving problems independently and communicating with colleagues and contractors.

  • Confidence using laptops, mobile devices and maintenance applications.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.

Experience with generators, alternators, HV switching procedures, electrical isolation or maintenance across multiple sites would be useful. Previous generator experience is desirable rather than essential.
