The role
As Site Services Engineer, you will provide technical support across the site services function, helping to prevent, correct and eliminate technical issues. You will be responsible for completing planned maintenance, keeping test logs up to date, supporting plant availability, reducing downtime and maintaining site services to a safe and reliable standard.
What youll be doing
- Maintaining steam boilers, refrigeration systems and heating systems
- Working on hot and cold-water systems, utility supplies, pipework and effluent treatment
- Supporting PPM schedules and keeping records up to date
- Carrying out PAT testing and emergency lighting checks
- Working with mechanical drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics
- Supporting commissioning and training on new equipment
- Helping reduce downtime linked to site services availability
- Completing continuous improvement projects that add real value
- Maintaining general site fabrication and services
- Working safely and helping control environmental impact
What were looking for
We are looking for a practical engineer with strong site services, utilities or maintenance experience. You will ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification
- Experience working with boilers, refrigeration, utilities, pipework, effluent or site services
- Good mechanical and electrical understanding
- Ability to work independently and plan your workload properly
- Good communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Confidence to recommend practical improvements
- Experience working in a pressurised production or manufacturing environment
- Food production experience would be useful, but engineers from similar manufacturing, utilities, facilities, process plant or industrial maintenance backgrounds will also be considered.
