It needs a Purchasing Manager who can keep production supplied while improving cost, quality and delivery. This could suit an established Purchasing Manager or Procurement Manager , or a Senior Buyer ready to take on broader responsibility. The opportunity Youll manage purchasing across castings, engineering bar and plate, electrical lamination stacks, laser-cut and pressed components, plus indirect services. Youll work directly with production, engineering and quality colleagues, giving you a clear view of how your decisions affect the finished product. Youll be responsible for: Securing materials and components so production can run without avoidable delays. Negotiating pricing, terms and lead times with UK and international suppliers. Finding practical cost savings while maintaining quality. Supporting existing products and new product introductions. Using MRP and stock information to plan purchases and manage supply risks. Building supplier relationships, including overseas visits where appropriate. Wed like to hear from you if you have purchasing experience in a manufacturing business, strong negotiation skills and confidence using an MRP or stock management system. An engineering background would be particularly relevant. CIPS qualifications, or progress towards MCIPS, would be an advantage.
