The Role

As Project Controls / Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial and financial control of major construction projects. You will work closely with construction, site, project, procurement and commercial teams to provide accurate cost visibility, structured reporting and proactive project controls. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining cost-loaded schedules in Microsoft Project
  • Tracking project performance against baseline cost, schedule and productivity targets
  • Preparing and managing change order requests with supporting evidence
  • Producing weekly and monthly Estimate at Completion forecasts
  • Monitoring actual vs budget and committed vs remaining costs
  • Capturing site productivity, timesheets, delays and scope changes
  • Reviewing and validating subcontractor invoices
  • Supporting invoicing against contractual milestones
  • Analysing historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy
  • Managing POC, work cost and gross margin performance across projects

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in project controls, cost engineering, quantity surveying or commercial management across construction, industrial, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, process plant, heavy engineering or major project environments. You could currently be working as a Project Controls Engineer, Project Controller, Cost Engineer, Commercial Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, Cost Controller or Project Commercial Manager. You will need strong attention to detail, clear communication skills and confidence working with project teams, site teams, subcontractors and clients. Relevant experience may include EAC forecasting, variation management, change orders, cost-loaded schedules, subcontractor invoice validation, commercial reporting, cost control, cost management and project controls. A degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be beneficial, but relevant project experience is key. Location

The role is based from the East Midlands with international project exposure and travel when required.
