Actual Part-Time Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum (FTE: £32,000 - £36,000)
Hours: 25 hours per week across three flexible working days OR Monday to Friday 09:30 - 14:30 (flexible)

The Role
As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, pensions and employee benefits. You will process payroll information, validate employee data, resolve queries and ensure all payroll activity complies with HMRC legislation, pension requirements and statutory obligations. This role would suit someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident handling sensitive and confidential payroll information.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately from start to finish
- Validate hours, overtime, absences, deductions and statutory payments
- Ensure payroll information is accurate before submission and approval
- Meet payroll deadlines and agreed performance measures
- Issue payslips, P45s, P60s and other payroll documentation
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready payroll records
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and statutory requirements
- Administer pensions, auto-enrolment and employee benefits
- Produce payroll reports covering costs, overtime, absence and discrepancies
- Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries
You should have:
- Previous experience in a payroll-focused role
- Experience processing end-to-end payroll
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Knowledge of SSP, SMP, pensions and auto-enrolment
- Experience using a payroll system
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good Microsoft Excel and Office skills
