This is a high-impact opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering business delivering major projects across the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and heavy industrial sectors throughout EMEA. This is not a generalist office-based HSE role. To be considered, you must have clear, hands-on construction HSE experience within live industrial or engineering project environments. Candidates from purely corporate, manufacturing-only or non-construction HSE backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable.
Working as part of the Global Field Services team, you will play a key role in developing, implementing and driving health, safety and environmental standards across a wide range of site-based engineering and construction activities.
Why Apply?
- Join a global engineering business with an outstanding reputation
- Work on complex industrial construction and field service projects
- Highly visible role with real influence across HSE systems, compliance and culture
- Hybrid role combining office, site and international travel
- Be part of a business where safety is taken seriously and lived day to day
- Excellent long-term career potential within a growing international operation
The Role
As HSE Engineer – EMEA, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and systems across the Global Field Services function. You will work closely with project managers, construction managers, engineers and field teams to identify risk, improve compliance, support mobilisation and strengthen HSE performance across projects in the EMEA region. This is a role for someone who is confident both on construction sites and in the office, and who is comfortable operating in fast-paced industrial project environments where standards, preparation and attention to detail really matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and management systems
- Support construction projects, field service teams and site activities across EMEA
- Carry out risk assessments, safety audits, site inspections and compliance reviews
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Drive corrective actions, CAPA processes and continuous improvement
- Deliver and coordinate HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes
- Maintain standard documentation packs, templates, HSE records and process maps
- Track engineer qualifications, certifications and safety documentation
- Support pre-mobilisation checks, contractor vetting and subcontractor compliance
- Ensure calibration and certification of critical equipment and safety devices
- Monitor HSE KPIs, audit findings and incident trends
- Work closely with the wider QHSE and operations teams to maintain standards
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as an HSE Engineer, Health and Safety Engineer, HSE Advisor, Senior HSE Advisor, EHS Engineer or QHSE professional
- Strong construction HSE experience within industrial project environments
- Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, EPC, shutdowns, turnarounds, mechanical installation, industrial services or heavy engineering
- Experience carrying out: Risk assessments, HSE audits, Site inspections, Incident investigations, Root cause analysis, Corrective and preventive actions
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards and best practice
- Ability to work across multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Hands-on, practical approach with the confidence to lead from the front
Qualifications and Certifications
- NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification is highly desirable
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 would be highly beneficial
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management or similar would be advantageous
Location and Travel
Based within commuting distance of Stamford / The Woolfox Depot, Stretton, LE15 7QT. Hybrid split between office and site. Around 50/50 office and site-based working. International travel across EMEA required. Flexibility needed for changing project demands, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a great opportunity for an experienced construction HSE professional who wants more than a paperwork-driven role. You’ll be working in real project environments, supporting live engineering and construction delivery, influencing teams on-site and helping shape standards across a global field service operation. If you have the right mix of industrial construction HSE experience, site credibility and practical safety leadership, this is a role where your background will be valued.
