Are you an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Fitter looking to join a rapidly growing international business within renewable energy and process plant engineering? Our client is a global market leader in resource recovery, anaerobic digestion and biogas technology. Operating across 18 countries, with more than 235 sites and 1750 installations worldwide, the business is now investing heavily in its UK operation. As part of this growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to support renewable energy, anaerobic digestion and industrial process plants across the UK. This is a permanent, field-based position involving regular national travel and overnight stays. Engineers normally work in teams of two or three, with the UK service operation coordinated from Lincoln.

The role
You will travel to company, customer and partner sites across the UK, carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on renewable energy and process plant equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and equipment failures
- Repairing and replacing mechanical components
- Supporting commissioning, plant upgrades and improvement projects
- Working alongside electrical, controls and automation engineers
- Helping improve plant reliability, efficiency and performance
- Supervising contractors during construction or upgrade work when required
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
You will work on equipment including:
- Pumps, submersible mixers and motors
- Valves, pipework and flow systems
- Conveyors, solid feeders and de-packaging machinery
- Heat exchangers and heating systems
- Gas storage and associated process equipment
- Sensors, safety systems and general plant machinery
What were looking for
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- At least three years mechanical maintenance, fitting or field service experience
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
- Experience within industrial, manufacturing or process plant environments
- Experience working with pumps, motors, conveyors, valves or pipework
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home regularly
- A practical, flexible and safety-conscious approach
- Experience within anaerobic digestion, biogas, wastewater, recycling, food manufacturing, utilities, agriculture, energy-from-waste or other process plant environments would be advantageous.
