The Role – Construction Proposals Engineer

Working within a specialist construction and field services division, you will support the delivery of technically complex fired equipment installation and upgrade projects.

You will combine proposal development, technical engineering and site-based assessment work to ensure customers receive accurate, commercially competitive and technically robust solutions.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals for industrial installation and refurbishment projects
  • Developing solutions for burners, flares, incinerators, combustion systems and associated plant
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs and customer requirements
  • Producing cost build-ups across mechanical, civil and E&I disciplines
  • Developing proposal-level schedules and installation methodologies
  • Conducting site surveys and constructability reviews across the EMEA region
  • Identifying installation risks, constraints and interfaces
  • Working closely with contractors to obtain pricing for mechanical, civil and E&I works
  • Supporting technical discussions, clarifications and proposal presentations with customers
  • Collaborating with engineering, supply chain and project teams to deliver accurate, compliant proposals
  • Supporting project handover from proposal stage into execution

We are keen to speak with individuals from industrial construction, heavy engineering, energy or process sectors who have experience producing technical proposals, cost estimates or project engineering solutions.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience within oil gas, petrochemical, power generation, energy from waste, process engineering or industrial construction
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, civil and E&I installation activities
  • Experience producing technical and commercial proposals
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, layouts and specifications
  • Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required
