Youll need a strong, practical background in: Siemens Step7 Classic and TIA Portal WinCC SCADA PLC programming and modification Instrumentation, calibration and fault-finding Loop checking and PID tuning DCS and/or Safety Instrumented Systems Control-system commissioning Virtualised or VM-based control systems Heavy industrial, energy or process environments Youll ideally hold an apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in electrical, control, instrumentation or automation engineering. Even better if you have CompEx, ATEX, DSEAR or hazardous-area experience OT or industrial networking experience Industrial control-system cyber security knowledge Process safety or functional-safety experience Siemens PCS7 Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, OPC or industrial Ethernet VMware or Hyper-V Relevant backgrounds could include biogas, anaerobic digestion, power generation, Energy from Waste, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, utilities, water treatment or automated process manufacturing .
