Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a full-time, permanent role with a respected law firm in Spalding? We are recruiting for a Team Legal Secretary to join a growing Private Client department within a well-established Top 150 UK law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled secretary with strong typing, document production, audio transcription and organisational skills to join a professional, supportive legal team.

The Role

  • As a Legal Secretary in the Private Client team, you will provide secretarial and administrative support to fee earners working across:
    • Wills
    • Probate
    • Lasting Powers of Attorney
    • Trusts
    • Estate Administration
  • You will play a key role in keeping the department organised, efficient and responsive, while producing high-quality legal documents and supporting excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fast and accurate typing
  • Digital dictation and audio transcription
  • Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Diary management and appointment coordination
  • Managing post, emails and electronic filing
  • File opening and file closing
  • Supporting billing and time recording
  • Managing original documents and strong room procedures
  • Assisting with probate paperwork, LPAs, Deeds and Land Registry forms
  • Acting as a professional first point of contact for clients

What We're Looking For

  • Essential
    • Previous Legal Secretary experience, or strong secretarial experience within a professional environment
    • Fast and accurate typing skills
    • Digital dictation or audio transcription experience
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Professional written and verbal communication
    • High levels of confidentiality and discretion
  • Desirable
    • Previous Private Client experience
    • Knowledge of Wills, Probate, LPAs or Trusts
    • Experience using case management systems, iManage, Docusign or PDF Docs
    • Understanding of legal billing or Lexcel procedures
