Location: Home-based, covering West Yorkshire

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:15pm, Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Are you experienced in selling commercial training, upskilling programmes, workforce development solutions or employer-funded training? This is a strong opportunity to join a well-established engineering training provider in a home-based role covering West Yorkshire.

We are looking for a confident, commercially focused professional who can build relationships with employers and help them access high-quality training solutions for their staff. This role will be focused on developing relationships with engineering, manufacturing, automotive, mechanical, electrical, industrial and technical employers, understanding their workforce needs and promoting relevant commercial training and upskilling solutions.

The Role

As Commercial Training & Employer Outreach Executive, you will develop new employer relationships and manage existing employer accounts across West Yorkshire. You will work with businesses to understand their training needs, identify skills gaps and promote commercial training, upskilling and workforce development solutions. This is a consultative, employer-facing role where you will be expected to build your own pipeline, open new conversations, attend meetings and develop long-term partnerships with employers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell commercial training and upskilling solutions to employers
  • Develop new employer partnerships across West Yorkshire
  • Identify training needs and workforce development opportunities
  • Build relationships with engineering, manufacturing and technical employers
  • Manage and grow existing employer accounts
  • Generate new business through proactive outreach, meetings and networking
  • Conduct employer review meetings and training needs conversations
  • Prepare and present suitable training solutions to employers
  • Attend networking events, exhibitions and employer meetings
  • Support targeted employer outreach campaigns
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline activity
  • Track opportunities, conversion rates and commercial performance
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, curriculum and training teams

You do not need experience in every area, but you must be confident speaking with employers, identifying training needs and developing commercial opportunities.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience selling training, upskilling, workforce development or employer-led services
  • Strong employer-facing relationship management experience
  • Confident with proactive outreach, new business and account growth
  • Ability to identify employer needs and recommend suitable solutions
  • Strong communication skills across phone, email, meetings and presentations
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable managing your own pipeline
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Ideally based in West Yorkshire or within realistic travelling distance
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check

Highly Advantageous

  • Experience selling commercial training into engineering or manufacturing employers
  • Background in a college, FE provider, training provider or apprenticeship provider
  • Knowledge of funded training, apprenticeship levy, DAS, ESFA or employer-funded learning
  • Experience with technical training, engineering training, health and safety, compliance or professional qualifications
  • Experience delivering training needs analysis or workforce planning conversations
  • Existing employer relationships across West Yorkshire

You will enjoy building employer relationships, opening new conversations and creating practical training solutions that help businesses upskill their teams.
