Are you an experienced electrician/electrical engineer/electrical installer ready to step off the tools and into a rewarding training career? This is a rare opportunity for a commercially experienced Electrical Installation/Maintenance Electrician to move into education and pass on real-world knowledge to the next generation of engineers. FULL TRAINING PROVIDED.
You’ll join an established training team delivering high-quality apprenticeship and commercial electrical courses across Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. The Role
- Deliver practical and classroom-based electrical training to apprentices and adult learners
- Support learners through their technical development and assessments
- Deliver commercial courses including: C&G 18th Edition, C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing), Basic Electrical Maintenance, PAT Testing
- Use your industry background to bring learning to life
- Work closely with fellow instructors to maintain high training standards
This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your experience directly shapes careers.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Strong craft and fault-finding skills
- Confident communication and people skills
- Basic IT capability
- Experience in: Containment installations, First and second fix, Inspection and testing, Certification (EIC, EICR, Minor Works) to BS7671 and GN3 standards
Essential: Electrical apprenticeship or City & Guilds Level 3. Current or former JIB cardholders are welcome. We would also like to hear from veterans.
Location & Travel
Regular travel across Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle are essential - travel costs paid for.
Salary & Benefits:
If you don’t hold a teaching qualification, it will be fully funded and supported. You’ll complete this in your own time with guidance throughout. Benefits include:
- 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- Annual performance bonus
- Pension: 5% employee/7% employer
