Were recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 3pm to 3am .
This is a hands-on engineering position where youll also act as the senior engineering presence on shift , taking the lead on breakdown priorities, maintenance activity and engineering decisions when the Engineering Manager is not on site.

There can also be some flexibility around start and finish times for the right candidate.
What Youll Be Doing Working closely with production and engineering colleagues, youll help keep the factory running safely, efficiently and reliably.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
Carrying out fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis
Prioritising engineering activity to minimise production downtime
Completing planned and preventative maintenance
Improving plant reliability, efficiency and OEE
Supporting and guiding other engineers on shift
Acting as the senior engineering point of contact when required
Updating maintenance activity accurately through the CMMS
Identifying recurring faults and implementing long-term solutions
Supporting machinery upgrades, installations and capital projects
Working with production teams to improve equipment performance
Helping reduce engineering costs, energy consumption and waste
Maintaining engineering stores and stock accuracy
Supporting site audits and engineering compliance
Ensuring machinery and engineering activities comply with relevant legislation including PUWER, LOLER and DSEAR
About You Were particularly interested in hearing from experienced:
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers | Maintenance Engineers | Shift Engineers | Electrical Maintenance Engineers | Mechanical Maintenance Engineers
You should ideally have:
Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, food production, FMCG or a similar industrial environment
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
Experience working with production machinery and automated equipment
Good understanding of PPM and preventative maintenance
Experience diagnosing repeat failures and improving equipment reliability
A recognised engineering apprenticeship or qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent
Confidence making engineering decisions during breakdown situations
Previous experience supporting, supervising or leading other engineers
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational performance
You do not need to be a desk-based supervisor. This role is ideally suited to someone who still wants to be on the tools and actively involved in engineering work , while taking additional responsibility for the shift.
