Are you an experienced Field Engineer or Technician looking for a role with real autonomy, technical variety and long-term stability? We are recruiting Field Based Engineers to support a leading UK provider of smart parking technology, access control and electronic payment systems. This is not just another service role. You’ll be working with modern, technology-led parking infrastructure including payment terminals, barriers, ANPR systems, ticketing equipment and associated hardware - the systems that keep car parks, councils, hospitals, retail sites and commercial estates moving.
You’ll be home based, trusted to manage your own workload and given the tools, training and support to do the job properly.

The role:
As a Field Based Engineer, you’ll provide front-line engineering support across customer sites, making sure equipment is installed, commissioned, maintained and repaired to a high standard. You’ll be working across a mix of electrical, mechanical and electronic systems, including:
- Parking payment terminals
- Pay and display machines
- Barriers and access control systems
- ANPR-related hardware
- Ticketing equipment
- Payment and customer interface technology
- Associated electrical and mechanical components
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Reactive callouts and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing faults efficiently
- Supporting equipment in line with agreed SLAs
- Providing first-line customer training on system use
- Completing accurate service documentation and reports
- Liaising directly with customers on-site

You’ll need strong fault-finding skills, a methodical approach to diagnostics and the confidence to work independently in a customer-facing field role.
Requirements:
- Electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical fault-finding experience
- Previous field-based engineering or technician experience
- Strong customer communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office and digital job systems
- Full UK driving licence, maximum 6 points
