The Opportunity

You’ll be part of a highly capable engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving a busy FMCG production site. Working nights, you’ll take ownership of breakdown response, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. You’ll be trusted to work with autonomy, solve problems quickly, and contribute to overall site performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) with a proactive mindset
  • Diagnosing faults across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across machinery and site performance
  • Driving plant uptime and contributing to OEE improvements
  • Completing repairs during production in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintaining accurate engineering logs and work orders
  • Supporting contractor activity and liaising with external suppliers
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, GMP, and hygiene standards
  • Working closely with production teams to maintain strong communication and performance

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an FMCG or food production environment
  • Multi-skilled engineer with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship
  • Electrical qualification (16th or 17th Edition minimum)
  • Strong fault-finding and breakdown analysis capability
  • Experience working in fast-paced production environments
  • Comfortable working independently on nights
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • Experience with CMMS systems and general IT literacy
  • Food, chilled, or frozen environment experience is highly desirable
