We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly regarded professional services firm. Although the business has an impressive heritage, it is far from standing still. Led by an entrepreneurial leadership team, the firm has ambitious growth plans and is actively embracing modern technology and new ways of working to support its people, improve client service and develop its Wealth Management offering. The Role
As an Independent Financial Adviser, you will provide ongoing advice and support to existing clients while also working closely with Partners and Fee Earners to develop new financial services business. You will advise across a broad range of financial matters, including investments, pensions and inheritance tax planning, ensuring clients receive a compliant, efficient and genuinely client-focused service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing an ongoing advice service to existing clients
- Reviewing client portfolios in line with ongoing service agreements
- Identifying client needs and researching the market to make suitable recommendations
- Working with Partners and Fee Earners to identify and develop new financial services opportunities
- Maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system
- Ensuring all work is completed compliantly and efficiently
- Working in accordance with FCA regulations, firm policies and industry best practice
- Putting the interests of the client first at all times
- Working closely with the Compliance Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer
- Maintaining excellent standards of client care, confidentiality and professionalism
- Supporting colleagues and other offices when required
The role will be based primarily from either the Grantham or Newark office, although occasional travel to other locations may be required. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with appropriate business insurance, is essential.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, professional and relationship-led adviser who can combine strong technical knowledge with a warm, confident and client-focused approach. You will need:
- A Diploma-level financial services qualification
- A current Statement of Professional Standing from an approved Accredited Body
- Detailed knowledge of investments, pensions and inheritance tax planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making ability
- The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and professional colleagues
- High levels of integrity, empathy and confidentiality
- A proactive, positive and flexible approach
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Trust investments
- Professional case management systems
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
- Data protection and confidentiality requirements
